Young Filmmakers Get Their Shot

I know a few people who participated in The 48 Hour Film Project, a competition where teams make films, start to finish, in a single weekend.

Now local middle school and high school students will get their version with 3DayFilm, starting at 3pm on August 7.  Teams have 72 hours instead of 48.  The competition culminates in a screening of all entries at 6pm on August 10 at the Columbia Museum of Art.

Each film must include three elements:

1. At least one line of dialogue
2. An object, to be announced at the start of the competition
3. A literary character, of the filmmaker’s choosing
