Six Word Wednesday

Wednesday, June, 18, 2008

Recently, I was tagged to particpate in a six word memoir meme (it was my first...I was a meme virgin). This meme was initially prompted by the book written by Larry Smith & Rachel Fershleiser, Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six-Word Memoirs by Writers Famous and Obscure.

Apparently, Hemingway once bet ten dollars that he could sum up his life in six words. His words were, “For Sale: Baby Shoes, Never Worn.” The book is a compilation of similar 6 word stories. This meme challenges us to do the same.

So here's mine:

"Despite predictions, C-student makes it big"

As you can see, I haven't quite fulfilled my memoir, but I figure I've got a good 60 years to get it right ("it" being the making it big part...I've got the C-student part down pat).

Anybody else want to play??

Her heart and brain now agree. This took me a minute, embarrassingly enough. As a nerdy English teacher, I kept trying to haiku.

The clothes I wore for love. Wish I could use this as the synopsis for my memoir-in-progress, "Dressing the Part: What I Wore for Love." http://wwwpenandpalette-susancushman.blogspot.com/
