Changing the Comments

Friday, May, 30, 2008

We're thinking of changing the order of the comments. On most blogs the latest comment appears at the bottom, allowing you to read the whole thread by scrolling.

Ours are the opposite, and it's driving me nuts. They are also awkward when the conversation becomes threaded.

Any strong feelings from you all?

Update The comment order has been changed. The newest comment appears at the bottom.

Yep. I like the idea. I'm easily confused as is, so when trying to follow the flow of "conversation" I sometimes feel really stupid..er.... Also, it would be really cool if there were a way to keep up with comments to my posts without having to actually click on each one individually. It seems that after a couple of days, it's hard for me to remember where a particular "conversation" started....did that make any sense at all?! ~Pamela

I was also thinking that it would be neat to have a counter of sorts, to follow how many people actually read the individual posts. The only way we know that now is if they are moved (or bored)enough to leave a comment. That's the extent of my harassing you today. I promise.

Don't worry a bout bothering me. I want to get a counter for stories and posts too. I think we need "most popular" functionality.

I hadn't noticed the comments thang myself.. but, i'm usually in a stupor when I get online. I would like a way to communicate with other skirt! setter bloggers directly. And yes, if you could get an email when someone comments that would be cool. Right now i go to the tracking page (which works) but I sometimes forget and then I've left people hanging.
