To All Dynamic Women

One morning long before I was born, my grandma’s car broke down taking my mom to school. It was a bitter winter in Detroit with snow covering the ground and that painfully cold breeze that nips at your nose.

What were two girls to do?

Well, grandma, sporting a beehive wrapped in toilet paper, bath robe and slippers, would not be defeated by a pesky little car and 4 feet of snow. The mission was school and my mom was going!

“Come on feet!”

A story told over and over again, I am not sure which part makes me smile more. The idea of my grandma walking down a major street in Detroit with toilet paper on her head or my mom running away from her in sopping wet cloth Mary Jane’s like they were Air Jordan’s.

But, the point is, the mission was accomplished.

Everyday, I am thankful for the blessing of growing up under the influence of strong female spirits. Mom and Gram, you guide me every minute of my life.

To all the dynamic women that make this world a better place, Happy Mother’s Day!

What a great story! Thanks for sharing it. It reminds me of taking my daughter to school every morning. Love the picture too! What a cute little blond girl!

I really enjoyed that story! I know how having strong female role models (my mom and grandma too) helped me become who I am. Stylishly yours, Miss Attitude www.missattitude.us
