Garden of Change

Saturday, May, 10, 2008

A wind of change, well more of a hurricane, has blasted through my life in the last 30 days…  In any case, please accept my sincere apologies for my manic-induced neglect of this abode of bloggy bliss.

In addition to learning a timely lesson regarding my unrealistic pursuit of being  Superwoman (a very depressing realization, I must admit.), there have been so many wonderful updates as well… And, I found my creativity again!

So, in the fashion of  my very first blog entry, starting simply at the beginning (with a dirty sweat pants debut).  I think it is only acceptable to re-start my blog, not where I left off, but at a completely new starting point, the ground.

A few months ago, I wrote about the garden I was going to start. You know… the one where I had no idea what I was doing. Well, in spite of my ignorance, it growing, really, really growing! Thanks in part to an automatic sprinkler system, apparently great sunlight, Mike and his friend Andy… it’s a little urban farm! Tomatoes, broccoli, peppers, herbs, leeks and so much more. I am so ecstatic about the infant produce, but totally impatient… The first time I caught a glimpse of a little green tomato, I was like a grounded kid in a candy store.

So, last weekend I was out staring at our little plants in amazement, perhaps waiting for some super-natural “instant-ripe” mode, when I treated myself to a much needed internal monologue… In trying to assess my intrigue for my stationary subjects, I realized I was in awe of the surrounding silence, inspired by the new life and overjoyed with the simplicity.

I forgot that complication and craziness are often optional. The  power to choice is the mojo for happiness. Look out Austin Powers!

At the end of the day, it's about changing the world. Spirits (like you) inspire the confidence needed to stand up for what's right, while calming the anxieties of the battle. Existential beauty is a rare quality... Yet, you deliver it monthly through your creation, skirt! Thank you! You have made a difference my life and many others... ~dusty
