shutting down at the end of the day

Thursday, May, 8, 2008

It’s 11:20 p.m., one dog beside me asleep on the couch, another one on the floor – both oblivious to the time, day or date. The last time I looked at the clock it was 8:20 – where did three hours go – let’s see – signed two Mother’s Day cards (couldn’t make up my mind on one so I bought both). Enclosed a $25 Starbucks gift certificate with one card and told my mom to have a cup of coffee on me. Then reminded her that when I was a little girl I thought I might never have friends if I didn’t acquire a taste for coffee. My mother and her friends would get together for “coffee” several times a week just to talk. . I have friends but I don’t drink coffee. I know my mom will enjoy reading the cards. Reminded my step-son to sign the card he got for his mother at least three times, not sure he signed it before he went to bed. Remembered the dogs needed their heartworm medicine and decided I should also put the flea and tick medicine on  – hope they don’t OD – maybe that is why one of them is lying on her back, feet in the air. Really like Hillary’s resolve and confidence.

I give my monster his heart and flea meds together too....it's the only way I remember to do both. ~Ang

When I got home today they were both alive and well - promptly sniffing out the Chick-fil-A I brought home for dinner. No sign of ticks, fleas or heartworms (worms is a nasty word).

My dog is certainly more resilient than she lets on too, much like my mother and come to think about it, much like Hillary.
