I'm Leaving the 80s

Thursday, September, 25, 2008

I’m so proud of myself for finally leaving the ‘80s music behind!  OK not behind, but moving on to hear new music.

I’m starting to become more aware of other artists and listening to new music.  Today my husband was singing a song on Rock Band and I asked him for the second time if the band was the Psychedelic Furs. He said no. I asked him who they were, because I really liked the song. (of course it probably wasn’t the real band singing on Rock Band) and he said they were Interpol.

I love the sound of their music and I’m off to You Tube to take a listen. Isn’t new technology great! We can now listen to a song first before we decide if we want to buy it. And now we can just buy the songs we want with itunes.

One of my other favorite “new” (as in non ‘80s) songs is the song to The Devil Wears Prada, “Suddenly I See” by KT Tunstall. What a fun song!

I have a confession to make. I like singing on Rock Band! I really enjoy playing a video game with my husband. Unbelievable!

I DO love lots of new music, but I'll never be able to give up my INXS, U2, Joe Jackson, or Madonna. In fact I'm reliving a lot of it through my ipod. But yes, the new technology is great and new music is great too.
