I would like to officially welcome September, and with it, fall wardrobes, crisp air (well, maybe in December), chili beans awaiting me at home in the crock-pot, movie season, pumpkin lattes at Starbucks, and tights under skirts. I am so ready for you, fall.
Also, ode to our September Rules issue, I present to you my rules for living:
Enjoy every moment--and sometimes that means focusing less.
Use the energy you would put into worrying into action to come to a resolution.
Be grateful.
Be humble, but don’t be afraid to take credit where it’s due.
Laugh and always be kind but honest with children.
Always try new foods and new places.
And just for fun, my no-nos for living. My all-time pet peeves:
If you are driving a semi-truck, get out of the left lane. People are literally killing themselves trying to pass you.
Do not tell shorter people (like me) that they are “so cute!” or “so little!” It hasn’t been a compliment since I was three years old...and even then I preferred to be called a “big girl”. (But people know better than to call anyone that as an adult...right?)
Don’t charge over eight bucks for a salad. I can make it for less than that and much better, too.
Don’t ask for favors when one is on deadline. Just don’t.
Don’t interrupt.
Don’t be ignorant. Google it.
Tell me yours!
