I don’t know about the rest of y’all, but I was moved to tears by Barack Obama’s speech at the DNC last night. No, he’s not a woman, but he’s got our backs – he’s committed to upholding our right to choose, supporting birth control education and putting women’s healthcare issues on the grown-ups table.
Planned Parenthood Action Center president Cecile Richards (sporting a super hot pixie cut) endorsed Obama whole-heartedly in her DNC speech, and provided this gem of a quote at the Women’s Caucus:
“A woman voting for McCain would be like a chicken voting for Colonel Sanders.”
Yet what about these angry PUMAs prowling the DNC (that would be Party Unity My A**)? Yes, I wanted to see a woman in the White House this time around as much as any of us, but it is what it is. Hillary is still a player in Washington, and this convention is the tonic we all needed to wash down the bitter taste left behind by the primary.
Like it or not, it’s time to put on our big girl panties and get behind the candidate we’ve got. He’s a keeper.
